Do I have to pay to join USTA?
Yes. USTA requires an annual membership fee, which is paid directly to USTA via their website.
This fee helps fund national and regional league operations and is separate from team or court fees.
You may create a free account and obtain a rating, but in order to join a league, you must have a membership.
See USTA Membership Benefits here.
What is the Surprise Tennis Club interest form?
The interest form sent by Surprise Tennis Club helps our local Club:
- Gauge how many players are interested
- Determine what and how many teams we can create for each league level
- Ensure proper team placement and balanced rosters
Filling out the form does not register you with USTA or for a specific team. Acceptance to a team is based solely on captain’s digression.
What are league fees?
Each season, players also pay a league fee which covers:
- The cost of all court reservations for home matches
- Tennis balls for matches
- Administrative support
- Surprise Tennis Club Membership Fee – this helps us to continue operating as a 501c(7) organization and contributes to special events throughout the year.
This fee is divided among all players on the team, so it may vary based on roster size and total home matches.
Is the league fee included in my USTA membership?
No. The USTA membership fee and the league/team fee are separate charges.
You will pay:
- Once a year for your USTA membership
- Once per season for each team you join
- Fee to USTA for registration
- Fee to team/tennis complex for home match reservation and balls
Do I pay a league fee for each league I join?
Yes. If you join multiple leagues (e.g., Mixed Doubles and Adult 18+), you’ll pay a separate team fee for each one. However, you will only pay one Surprise Tennis Club membership fee.
